Ordinary Superstar

I wanted to take the time to discuss Larry Walker’s potentiel induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame on his 10th and final try in 2020. I won’t debate his WAR or OPS or anything about his qualifications as a ball player. Those speak for themselves.
I want to talk about Larry Walker the person I had the pleasure of dealing with during our Expos Fest Fundraiser in March of 2019. I want to talk about the man who refused for us to buy his airline ticket or accepting an appearance fee. I want to talk about the man who signed hundreds of autographs without a fuss. I want to talk about the man who helped us raise almost $200,000 to fight childhood brain cancer.

I want to talk about Larry Walker the ordinary superstar who I truly believe wants a spot in Cooperstown but at the same time will not try to convince anyone just how great he was. Larry Walker refuses to lobby for his spot amongst the immortals.

If the writers deem him worthy he will accept. If they don’t, the pride of Maple Ridge BC will continue coaching on Team Canada and will continue being Larry Walker, a true Canadian, humble in every way.

Oh ya, Larry Walker is a Hall of Fame Player and is of Hall of Fame Character.
